ReportThe University of Waterloo's Intact Centre has released a new report on flood resilience in Canada.
Preventing Disaster before It Strikes: Developing a Canadian Standard for Flood-Resilient Residential Communities outlines 20 broadly applicable best practices to design and build new residential communities in Canada that are more flood-resilient. The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) supported the development of the report, which included a national consultation, led by the Intact Centre, with over 100 municipal stormwater management experts, engineering consultants, developers, insurers, homebuilders, environmental organizations and other stakeholders in Canada.
