International Summit of the Great Rivers of the World: "Taking Action for Water and Climate"

The Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea is organizing the International Summit on "Water and Climate ; Meeting of the Great Rivers of the World", from 23 to 25 October 2017 in Rome. This international summit is organized in partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), the Global Alliances for Water and Climate (GAfWC) and Aquamadre.

This Summit is a milestone for the preparation of the Bonn COP 23 (6-17 November 2017) and the Brasilia World Water Forum (18-23 March 2018). Its goal is to further integrate freshwater management issues into the top priorities of the international negotiations on climate change and of the Global Climate Action Agenda. It will especially focus on the need for quick action to finance projects to improve knowledge, governance, public participation and take immediate measures for water adaptation to climate change.

Europe-INBO 2017

The International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO) and the European Group of Basin Authorities will host an international conference from 20-23 September in Ireland. This year's focus will be on the implementation of European Water Directives. It will also include a roundtable session and discussions focused on Adaptation to Climate Change: Pressures, Priorities, Insurances, Impacts and Resilience of Government Agencies and Economic Sectors.

Europe-INBO 2016: For the Implementation of the European Water Directives

The 14th “EUROPE-INBO 2015” international conference, organized by the "Group of European Basin Authorities for the Implementation of the European Water Directives”, will take place this October at the invitation of the French Authorities and the City of Lourdes.

Within the context created by the European Commission “Blueprint”, this meeting will be organized around a preparatory workshop and 4 roundtables dealing with the updated issues of the field Implementation of the WFD and other European Water Directives. Participants will study adaptation to climate change in the basins, especially with regard to droughts and floods, transboundary cooperation, wastewater reuse and the process of reviewing the Water Framework Directive. 10th General Assembly | International Network of Basin Organizations

The Mexican Government, through the National Water Commission (Conagua), will accommodate the 10th World General Assembly of the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), from the 1st to the 4rd of June 2016 in the City of Merida, Yucatan.

The tenth edition of this Assembly will organize its work around major strategic issues to ensure the necessary implementation of programs of adaptation to great global challenges such as population growth, food and energy demand, or adaptation to the effects of climate change, in the basins of local, national and transboundary rivers, lakes and aquifers, which will be addressed in plenary sessions, roundtables and side events.
