The Policy & Practice of Climate Change & Water

AGWA currently exists as an informal network rather than as a NGO or legal entity. We are organized through a charter.

We are governed by a steering committee, which includes two co-chairs: the World Bank’s
Water Partnership Program, and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) Climate Change and Water Program. The AGWA Secretariat is coordinated by John Matthews on behalf of SIWI and reports directly to the steering committee.

The members of the steering committee include:

Casey Brown, University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Christine Chan, consultant, based in Hong Kong
Joppe Cramwinckel, World Business Council for Sustainable Development
Paul Fleming, Seattle Public Utilities
Karin Lexén, Stockholm International Water Institute
Robert Pietrowsky, Institute of Water Resources, US Army Corps of Engineers
Diego Rodriguez, World Bank
Cees van de Guchte, Deltares

We have a regular newsletter — please
write us directly if you are interested in receiving a copy. This is also the best way to contact us if you are interested in joining AGWA or requesting support or information. As of 2016, more than 175 organizations are members of the AGWA network, located globally. This site also has information about many ongoing, planned, or past events as well as publications and other resources.

Two key areas for engagement are
AGWA’s policy team, led by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), and the synthesis of interdisciplinary knowledge and insight into resilient decision-making processes for water management through AGWA's technical programs.
