We are organizing the first AGWA Policy Group Call of the year on Tuesday, April 2nd from 1-2 p.m. UTC. Anyone is welcome to join, even if you haven’t participated in Policy Group activities before.
Meeting Agenda
The quarterly calls provide an opportunity to receive updates and engage in conversations with AGWA staff and members of our network. During this call, we will focus on the following items:
Insights from the COP28 Resilience Hub & how "resilience" plays into this year's policy agendas from Jorge Gastelumendi, Atlantic Council
Milestones & events to track, including UNFCCC SB60 and outcomes of the March Adaptation Committee meetings
Time for group discussion on priorities for follow up on water and climate policy in 2024.

About the Guest Speaker
Jorge Gastelumendi is Interim Director at the Atlantic Council. He is a recognized climate and environmental policy and finance leader, lawyer and passionate, public-spirited professional. Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, Jorge was MD, External Affairs, Global Strategies and previously head of TNC’s International Climate Finance Team. He also served as Chief Advisor and negotiator to the Government of Peru, leading to the adoption of the Paris Agreement in the government’s dual role as UNFCCC COP20 Presidency and co-chair of the Green Climate Fund’s board. Earlier in his career, Jorge was a carbon fund manager at The World Bank’s Carbon Finance Unit.
Originally from Peru, he holds a J.D. from Peru’s Catholic University, an MSc. in Energy and the Environment from the University of Calgary and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government — Harvard University.
