WebinarThe Conservation Biology Institute (Oregon, USA) is organizing a webinar entitled "Climate Change Impacts on Gulf of Alaska Hydrology and Freshwater Discharge" taking place in early April. Jordan Beamer, an Oregon State University PhD WRE candidate, will present his modeling studies of the impacts of climate change on freshwater resources along the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) coastline. His work has quantified the increases in coastal freshwater discharge (FWD) that can occur due to increases in precipitation and temperature and decreases in glacier cover.

PresentationsAGWA partners at the University of Valencia will be presenting two upcoming sessions on resilient water management at international conferences in April and May.
At the
European Geosciences Union General Assembly in Vienna this April, they will be liaising with AGWA members presenting on the CRIDA methodology. This will take place during the session on "Water Resources Management and Policy in a Changing World" on Monday, 18 April.
At the
Adaptation Futures Conference in Rotterdam this May, University of Valencia faculty will take part in the session on "Droughts from a social, economic and technical perspective." Presenters will discuss the challenges of drought management in different parts of the world taking into account the different water needs from an economic, environmental and social perspective. This session will take place on Tuesday, 10 May.

ConferenceDuring the upcoming
European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly in Vienna, AGWA has been accepted to present on its ongoing CRIDA initiative. The General Assembly of the EGU is held at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) in Vienna, Austria, from 17–22 April 2016. The assembly is open to the scientists of all nations.
AGWA member Ad Jeuken of Deltares will lead a portion of the session "Water Resources Management and Policy in a Changing World" on 18 April 2016. Dr. Jeuken will discuss the origin and goals of CRIDA, as well as the practical tools available at each step of the CRIDA process. The portion of the session regarding CRIDA will take place from
8:45–09:00 a.m. in Room C.

ConferenceThe Mexican Government, through the National Water Commission (Conagua), will accommodate the 10th World General Assembly of the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), from the 1st to the 4rd of June 2016 in the City of Merida, Yucatan.
The tenth edition of this Assembly will organize its work around major strategic issues to ensure the necessary implementation of programs of adaptation to great global challenges such as population growth, food and energy demand, or adaptation to the effects of climate change, in the basins of local, national and transboundary rivers, lakes and aquifers, which will be addressed in plenary sessions, roundtables and side events.
