Planning in an uncertain future: The Climate Risk Informed Decision Analysis (CRIDA) methodology

A 1 hour side event as an introductory training session for the CRIDA methodology, at this years’ free and open 4th Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Congress which is held online from 18-29 October 2021.

Important: If you wish to join this 1 hour training session, you'll need to register for the full GWOPs Congress.

The Climate Risk Informed Decision Analysis (CRIDA) methodology provides stepwise planning guidance for water resources planners, managers, and engineers to help make decisions under uncertainty and implement resilient water management strategies. At this year’s Global WOPs Congress, AGWA is co-convening a one-hour side event as an introductory training session for the CRIDA methodology.

CRIDA implements bottom-up vulnerability approaches through collaborative stepwise planning procedures to build robust, flexible solutions. It addresses the urgent need to better tailor decision-making under situations of uncertainty to the practice of water management and to improve the capacity of stakeholders, decision makers, and technical water staff together.

In this 1 hour training session:

  • participants will be introduced to the CRIDA methodology and learn how it can be tailored to the utilities sector

  • experts on the CRIDA methodology will guide participants through five steps to support goals of adaptation and resilience

  • specific case studies featuring water utilities will be highlighted to show how CRIDA has been applied to build resilience despite increasing variability and uncertainty and

  • an opportunity for participants to ask questions and engage with the experts.
