Climate change is already affecting the world’s water resources. Climate change can reduce water availability, decrease water quality, impede access to safe drinking water, and impact sustainable development. Despite these links, water security and climate adaptation are often discussed as separate issues with separate solutions. On Tuesday, 29 June The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs and the Bureau of Global Public Affairs will be hosting an interactive online event focused on challenges and solutions associated with the integration of climate and water.
This live webinar will explore the relationship between climate and water and highlight the importance of integrated approaches and information sharing to strengthen water security and advance climate resilience.
AGWA’s own Policy Director, Ingrid Timboe, will serve as moderator for this live event. Distinguished panelists will discuss integrated approaches and information sharing to advance climate resilience and water security. Panelists include Dr. James Dalton (IUCN), Dr. Soumya Balasubramanya (IWMI), and Dr. Ruth Meinzen-Dick (International Food Policy Research Institute).
