Beyond Downscaling: A Bottom-Up Approach to Climate Adaptation for Water Resources Management

In 2014 AGWA began to lay the groundwork for the Knowledge Platform on Bottom-Up Approaches. The AGWA-led publication Beyond Downscaling: A Bottom-Up Approach to Climate Adaptation for Water Resources Management was released as a tool for forward-looking water managers. The publication describes the challenges of including climate change in water management decision-making and provides an overview of current practices in the adaptation field. Its focus is on achieving water security over long timescales. After considering the pros and cons of these practices, the book concludes with a framework for an adaptation approach supported by Alliance for Global Water Adaptation (AGWA).
