Sustaining Waters, Sustainable Cities: Urban climate change and SDG policy solution

Global Water Forum published a three-part series looking at how the objectives of the SDGs and UNFCCC can be synergized to develop effective climate mitigation, adaptation, and sustainability strategies. These articles were written by a high level group of AGWA members in November 2017.  Part one examines how an emphasis on urban resilience can help Parties achieve SDGs 2, 11, and 13, and successfully counter the more extreme effects of a changing planet. Part two shows both how the finance mechanisms can serve as a powerful tool for engaging cities to include effective resilience, as well as how global policy itself — both the 2030 Agenda and the UNFCCC — can foster a more integrative enabling environment.
