International Association of Hydrogeologists (2019) Strategic Overview Series: Climate Change Adaptation and Groundwater

This document examines how aquifers can act as water storage in the face of climate change as part of drought resilience while factoring in the impact of climate change on aquifer recharge. A ‘strategic rethinking’ requires quality protection, demand-side/supply-side management, and increased investment in conjunctive use. Very relevant is the discussion around local level challenges to ensure water quality is maintained within an aquifer.
