Introducing AGWA's new Senior Policy Advisor for the Water Resilience Tracker

AGWA is excited to announce that Dani Gaillard has joined the Secretariat as our Senior Policy Advisor for the Water Resilience Tracker. Dani is an expert in multistakeholder collective action mechanisms and comes to us from the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), where she led their International Processes and Policy Programme, including the Water for Climate Pavilion at the annual UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP). Prior to that, Dani worked as a Senior Advisor for Global Processes and Policy with the Global Water Partnership, and spent over 15 years at the World Water Council, where she developed and led their water and climate policy programmes.

At AGWA, Dani will be leveraging her two decades of experience to support the expansion of the Water Resilience Tracker initiative, working alongside our staff and partners at Arup, IWMI, and Deltares to mainstream water resilience with both state and non-state actors. She will also collaborate with our Deputy Executive Director to grow our policy work, deepening our connection to existing members and reaching new audiences. Dani is based in France, which will help us engage more directly with our European partners, particularly those working on EU climate and water policy. She can be reached at: dgaillard@alliance4water.org

Dani previously served as an unpaid member of AGWA's Board of Directors and stepped down upon accepting the Senior Policy Advisor position. AGWA members will vote on her replacement in the lead up to the next AGWA General Members meeting, tentatively scheduled for late August 2025.
