The UNFCCC Regional Collaboration Centre (RCC) St. George’s and Caribbean Cooperative Measuring, Reporting, and Verification Hub (CCMRVH) work to build capacity for Caribbean countries around communicating national adaptation information under the enhanced transparency framework of the Paris Agreement. Many countries are already taking their first steps to transition to the ETF, which builds on and enhances existing MRV arrangements. The instruments for reporting and communication are characterized by their voluntary character, flexibility, and the emphasis on avoiding duplications and additional burdens. However, they also provide an essential information source to enable the global stocktake to consider progress on adaptation.
In this context, RCC St. George’s/CCMRVH, in collaboration with the UNFCCC secretariat and other partners is offering a webinar on the arrangements, tools and systems for adaptation reporting under the transparency arrangements. The June 22nd webinar will be free to attend and will feature expert speakers working in the region and on global initiatives to enhance national climate planning and reporting.
Vintura Silva of RCC St. George’s/CCMRVH will moderate a panel with speakers Thomas W. Dale (UNEP-DTU Partnership), Matti Goldberg (UNFCCC Adaptation Division), Kelsey Harpham (AGWA), and Joanna Noble (Government of Belize). The Q&A session will feature discussions on the challenges and needs of the Caribbean.
