Approaching climate and disasters in an age of uncertainty: Case studies and insights for the High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP)
UNESCO has published a flagship report entitled Approaching climate and disasters in an age of uncertainty: Case studies and insights for the High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP), featuring lead authors from AGWA and UNESCO. The report is intended to spotlight the value of bottom-up approaches for resilient water management in the face of hydroclimatic risks.
A global set of case studies illustrate how technical, on-the-ground programs are being implemented to help address disaster risk or climate impacts. The report concludes with a set of recommendations intended to provide the HELP with tangible, policy-oriented steps in creating “triple-win” actions that simultaneously promote disaster resilience, climate adaptation, and sustainable development.
