New Insights on Nature-based Solutions for Adaptation: Ramping Up Action through NBS Initiatives

Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are increasingly recognized as effective and necessary approaches to meet the urgent climate mitigation and adaptation challenges facing society. Yet for all the attention they are given, NBS for adaptation have not been adopted or institutionalized in a widespread and consistent manner, especially when compared to traditional gray infrastructure.

This webinar, organized by World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Alliance for Global Water Adaptation (AGWA), presents opportunities to capitalize on the growing political support for NBS and broader mobilization of existing NBS initiatives for adaptation. Speakers will present and draw upon research featured in the new WRI working paper The Potential for Nature-Based Solutions Initiatives to Incorporate and Scale Climate Adaptation. This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring diverse perspectives from NBS initiatives, funders, and relevant case studies.
