INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT (IFAD)

Dr. Raúl Muñoz Castillo is Lead Global Technical Specialist, Water & Rural Infrastructure at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Previously, he was a Water Resources and Climate Change Adaptation Senior Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).

He has more than 20 years experience working on environmental and water resources management, with broad international experience working at the private sector, public sector, multilateral organizations and academia. His work has a strong focus on water infrastructure and water policy. Raúl has published as lead author and as co-author numerous publications in world class journals on water, sustainability and environmental related issues. He holds a PhD in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland where he concentrated on Water and Land Nexus and the Paris Agreement in Brazil. He also holds an MBA from the Center for Economic and Trade Studies at the Spanish Foreign Trade Institute.
