Reporting Progress on the UN Water Action Agenda

Follow-up to the UN 2023 Water Conference

Last year's historic UN Water Conference, convened by the UN General Assembly and co-hosted by Tajikistan and the Netherlands, resulted in a global "Water Action Agenda" which has subsequently received over 1,000 voluntary commitments from organizations, companies, and individuals around the world. These commitments are designed to "accelerate implementation and improve impact towards achieving SDG 6 and other water-related goals and targets" under the 2030 Agenda. All stakeholders, including governments, the United Nations system, relevant international financial institutions, the private sector, civil society (including youth), academia, and multistakeholder partnerships, are expected and encouraged to drive the implementation of the Water Action Agenda.

Progress on these commitments is now being assessed. If you or your institution made a commitment to the Water Action Agenda, you are requested to submit your progress against that commitment on the Water Action Agenda website. For more information or if you have any questions about voluntary commitments, please email the UN at: dsdg@un.org.
