Water in a changing climate: New white paper from WSP and AGWA
A new white paper from WSP and AGWA shares insights into new frameworks to enhance climate and water resilience. Published on World Water Day, Water in a Changing Climate: Reducing risks, leveraging opportunities and enhancing resilience puts forward the case that resilience is a journey, not a destination.
The authors write that as the climate has changed, “approaches needed to understand and proactively address associated risks and opportunities” have to change too.
Two iterative approaches to support organizations’ ability to manage climate-related risks and opportunities are presented: the Business Function Mapping Framework and the Water Resilience Assessment Framework.
The authors posit that water and climate change go hand in hand, and to create a more resilient future, climate change needs to be considered in decision-making that must occur “more ubiquitously, and more quickly, across all organizations.”
