Josh Weinberg

Josh Weinberg is the Senior Policy Advisor at AGWA, beginning the post in July 2023. Working under AGWA’s Policy Director, Josh contributes to numerous collaborations with colleagues from government agencies, intergovernmental organizations, civil society, and UN agencies such as the UNFCCC and UN-Water in order to advance AGWA’s goal of integrating water more centrally within the global climate agenda. Mr. Weinberg also serves as a focal point for AGWA’s Policy Group, with an emphasis on regular coordination and communication to the large international network of AGWA members and partners.

Prior to joining AGWA, Josh spent 15 years at the Stockholm International Water Institute working with water, climate, and sustainability programs. He has served as an expert or advisor supporting numerous governments, companies and international organizations across fields such as climate resilience, water-energy-food nexus, nature-based solutions and source-to-sea management. As a manager at SIWI and as an independent consultant, Josh has developed and implemented over 20 different projects and multi-year research programs from diverse financers. He holds a MsC from the Resilience Center at Stockholm University in Natural Resource Management and Governance.
